Why Does My Dog Fart Constantly?
There can be several reasons for flatulence in dogs and most of these are not serious. One reason can be that your dog is eating very quickly and this can increase the amount of air they take in. Feeding shortly after exercise can also increase the amount of air taken in.
Occasionally it can be related to diet, especially diets that are high in non-meat protein sources or high in fibre. Anything that causes an upset of the gastro-intestinal tract or diarrhea can also increase flatulence and common causes of this are dietary indiscretion (ie. Your dog eating something it shouldn’t), sudden diet change, food intolerance or inflammatory bowel disease. Anything that leads to diarrhea can also increase flatulence.
