Panoramis is the fastest acting ‘all in one’ flea, heartworm and wormer. It comes in an easy-to-administer flavoured chew that avoids the need for a messy top-spot chemical.
WHAT IS PANORAMIS?
Panoramis is a beef flavoured chew that combines Spinosad, the same active ingredient as the popular monthly flea tablet Comfortis, with an added wormer so your pet is covered against roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and heartworm.
The fast flea killer Spinosad works to kill fleas fast, with 100% of fleas dead within 4 hours making it the fastest flea and worming product on the market. Unlike top spot medications, Panoramis is absorbed internally so you don’t need to worry about bathing or swimming washing in off and it will remain effective for a whole month.
Veterinarians now recommend Spinosad for any dog with flea allergy dermatitis, with no need for additional insect growth regulators or messy sprays.
HOW DOES PANORAMIS WORK?
Panoramis is a monthly flavoured chew and should be given with food. It works internally to kill intestinal and heartworms with the active ingredient milbemycin oxime, which has been available for years in the product Milbemax.
Unfortunately heartworm is a silent killer and has often been present for years before there are any clinical signs. It is spread by mosquitoes, so any dog is at risk of contracting heartworm. The treatment is dangerous and costly, so prevention with a monthly heartwormer is the best way to protect your family.
Panoramis effectively prevents heartworm infection, but your dog should be tested if there has been a break in your heartworm treatment. Please see your vet to book a simple heartworm test. If it has been less than 6 weeks since the last treatment, simply give the dose when you remember.
WHEN SHOULD YOU USE PANORAMIS?
Panoramis should be used monthly. It should not be given if you are using high off-label doses of ivermectin products such as for tick treatments.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING PANORAMIS?
- If your dog is 2.3-4.5 kg you need Panoramis Pink
- If your dog is 4.6-9 kg you need Panoramis Orange
- If your dog is 9.1-18 kg you need Panoramis Green
- If your dog is 18.1-27kg you need Panoramis Blue
- If your dog is 27.1-54 kg you need Panoramis Brown
When you purchase Panoramis ensure the packaging is sealed and free from damage. Check the expiry date to ensure you have at least 6 months to use the Panoramis in that box.
WHERE CAN YOU BUY PANORAMIS?
Panoramis for Dogs can be purchased from vet clinics, pet shops or online, including the Love That Pet Store. The online prices for products are generally cheaper, however you will need to take into account the postage costs and return policies.
If you have never used Panoramis before and your pet is elderly or on other medications, please consult with your veterinarian before using this product. The main known interaction is with off-label use of ivermectin (such as for treatment of ticks or mites).
WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED?
If you live in a tick area, use Advantix or Frontline Plus fortnightly for paralysis ticks in addition to or instead of your monthly Panoramis treatment. If your dog eats raw meat or forages outside, it may be necessary to invest in a separate tapewormer to be given every 3 months.
