NexGard Chewables for Dogs are an innovative new monthly flea and tick treatment for dogs that come in an easy to administer beef-flavoured chew that your dog will just love.

WHAT IS NEXGARD FOR DOGS?

While its competitors need to be administered every fortnight for paralysis tick control, NexGard for Dogs blitzes the competition, performing for a whole month between doses.

Many pet owners are a little confused about tick and flea control. Leading topspot treatments need to be given monthly for fleas, but increased to fortnightly for paralysis tick control, in particular during warmer months. Unfortunately this gets a little tricky for many owners and in many cases pets do not receive the treatment they need to protect them against deadly paralysis ticks.

NexGard Chewables are the first oral treatment that offer effective flea and tick control on dogs for a full month. It’s as simple as one chew, once a month, for complete protection against fleas and ticks. The new molecule in NexGard was developed specifically for companion animals and has everyone in the pet industry excited because it makes life so much simpler for you and your dog.

With NexGard you can say goodbye to messy topspots, uneven sprays or unsightly tick collars. Instead you have a simple oral treatment, one that won’t wash off, that protects against fleas and ticks all year round. NexGard also kills fleas fast, knocking them dead before they can start laying eggs.

NexGard beef-flavoured chews are easy to administer and unlike other tablets can be given on an empty stomach. No need to sneak around making sure your dog has just eaten before giving the tablet. For these reasons and more the team at Love That Pet are proud to be among the first to bring this revolutionary new product to Australia.

WHEN SHOULD YOU USE NEXGARD FOR DOGS?

If you have a dog that swims and lives in a paralysis tick area, using NexGard means you don’t need to worry about wetting a tick collar and making it ineffective or wondering if your top spot is still working. Its also ideal for those looking for a simple monthly product that pairs well with a monthly all wormer for complete parasite protection for your dog.

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING NEXGARD FOR DOGS?

  • Check the expiry date.
  • Ensure the packaging is sealed and free from damage.
  • Ensure you have the correct weight for your dog and purchase the correct dose. Do not split vials or doses.

WHAT SIZE NEXGARD DO I NEED FOR MY DOG

NexGard comes in four sizes depending on the weight of your canine companion:

  • For dogs 2-4kg use NexGard Orange for Very Small Dogs
  • For dogs 4.1-10kg use NexGard Blue for Small Dogs
  • For dogs 10.1-25kg use NexGard Green for Medium Dogs
  • For dogs 25.1-50kg use NexGard Red for Large Dogs
  • For dogs over 50kg use the appropriate combination of NexGard Chewables sizes

WHERE CAN I BUY NEXGARD?

NexGard for Dogs can be purchased from vet clinics, pet shops or online, including the Love That Pet Store. The online prices for products are generally cheaper, however you will need to take into account the postage costs and return policies.

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED?

NexGard covers ticks and fleas so you will need a monthly heart wormer and intestinal wormer like Interceptor Spectrum for Dogs to cover all your pet’s parasite needs.

We would also advise investing in a Tick Twister, as like all tick products it is important to tick search daily. No product is 100% effective, and although this has been shown to be 98.5% effective within 24 hours, it only takes on paralysis tick to cause a big problem.
